John Hollander – Chairperson/Director

John is a director/owner of Hollander Homes. John is a life member of the local Centrals Trinity Beach club and also AFL Cairns Juniors and Chairman of the AFL Cairns Senior Tribunal. John and his wife Valerie have been outstanding volunteers to AFL in Far North Queensland and we are proud to have John as Chairman of AFL Cape York.

Richard Griffiths – Secretary/Director

Richard has a long history in AFL firstly as a player, and in recruitment and administration. Richard is presently the CEO of AFL Queensland and gives AFL Cape York a direct link to AFL Queensland, his knowledge and expertise is of great benefit to our organisation.

Louise Hunter – Director

Louise is working with Department of ATSIP/Communities, former elite basketballer who received a basketball scholarship to study in the United States. Louise has extensive understanding and experience in Government and prior to her current position worked with Department of Child Safety and Sport and Recreation Queensland.

Steve Tillett – Deputy Chairperson

Steve, is a Police Sergeant who is currently working as a Cross Cultural Liaison Officer with the Queensland Police Service, former Cowboys player who grew up on Palm Island. Steve a has excellence knowledge of Indigenous issues and has experienced remote life when stationed at Normanton Police Station.

Melissa Browne - Director

Melissa like Louise has a background with Government. Prior to her current position with Queensland Health Melissa worked with Department of Sport and Recreation. Melissa continues to work closely with Communities of Cape York.

Joyce Sebasio - Director

Joyce is an active community member of the NPA and sits on the Torres Strait Youth and Recreation Sporting Association (TSYRSA) board. Joyce has worked first hand with sport and rec in the communities and has added a community voice to the board.

Matt Trevett-Lyall - Director

Matt is the Regional Manager of Qantaslink airlines operating out of Cairns and servicing the Remote Communities. Matt has a reel commitment to Remote Indigenous Communities and has been a prominent supporter and advocate of the Kickstart program over many years. Qantaslink has been a partner of the program for the past six years.

Graham Ross - Director

Graham was born in Katherine in the Northern Territory and grew up wishing he could play for his father's beloved Darwin Buffaloes. Through his football career at the age of 21 he was able to secure a job with the Novotel Atrium Darwin after going back to school to pick up his grades. Graham worked his way up the career chain with the Accor Group transferring to Cairns to progress his career. This is when he realised his passion was assisting young indigenous people with their careers and choices. After 14 years with the hotel chain Graham was the Program Development Officer assisting young offenders to get back on the right track.

Michael White - Director

Michael is the Principal Service Officer wilth Department of Communities and has held various positions in indigenous services over the past years.
